Meet Gretchen Volkenstein

She spent a significant portion of her childhood and high school years in the Saint Joseph area. After residing in California and Germany for seven years, she returned to Southwest Michigan in 2014. Gretchen has always possessed a deep passion for real estate. At the tender age of 12, her parents assisted her in purchasing her first investment property for $19,000! Over the years, Gretchen has successfully managed rental properties, undertaken the renovation of a century-old farmhouse, remodeled a mid-century home in Germany, and overseen the completion of her family's investment property in Aruba. Owning her own home and investment properties in the area, Gretchen thoroughly enjoys assisting individuals in finding their ideal primary residence, vacation home, or investment property. She has gained extensive experience working with families who are relocating to the Saint Joseph area, and she takes great pleasure in sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for our unique region. Gretchen is deeply committed to the local community and actively engages in communication and event planning. She is the founder of the group, Berrien County Strong-Community in Action, and serves on the boards of various non-profit organizations in Southwest Michigan. In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Gretchen was honored as one of Southwest Michigan's "40 under 40" by Moody on the Market in 2018. Additionally, she was voted as the "Favorite Real Estate Agent of the Year" in 2019 through polling conducted by the Herald Palladium's annual balloting for these esteemed professional accolades. Furthermore, Gretchen was bestowed with the prestigious Diamond Award in 2019 for her exceptional real estate sales exceeding 15 million dollars. Gretchen graduated with distinction from Indiana University, where she obtained a degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing and Public Relations. Her two sons, Finn and Will, are enrolled at Lincoln Elementary School in Saint Joseph. When she is not engrossed in real estate endeavors, Gretchen cherishes spending quality time with her boys, embarking on travel adventures, volunteering, indulging in boating activities on Lake Michigan, and savoring the splendid beaches and numerous attractions that Southwest Michigan has to offer.
